Union County is a sportsman's paradise. Many take use of the large Lake Butler Wildlife Management Area. This and other areas in the vicinity provide an abundance of deer and other game. There are three lakes and two small rivers which provide good fishing oppurtunities.

        Six recreation areas in the county provide a wide variety of sports and athletic facilities including tennis, softball, and baseball, with picnic areas. Facilities for large group entertainment are available in several locations from local governemnt and civic organizations. Many local churches also provide a variety of activities and services.
