SPECIAL MEETING
CITY OF LAKE BUTLER
DECEMBER 18, 2009

CALL TO ORDER - ROLL CALL: Mayor Crawford called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon and read the following notice: “If any person decides to appeal a decision made with respect to any matter at this meeting or hearing, he will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record is made”.

Commissioners Cason, Myers and Mayor R. Crawford were present. Commissioner Beasley was absent due to family illness. Commissioner B. Crawford was absent.

Staff: City Attorney Maines, & City Manager Berchtold were present.

ITEM A. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - Mayor Crawford led the pledge of allegiance.

ITEM B. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA FORMAT.
Motion made by Cason, second by Myers and carried unanimously to approve the Agenda Format.

ITEM C. PROVISION FOR CITIZEN INPUT:
Hardy Clyatt of the City of Lake Butler and Richard Powell of Powell & Jones, CPA were present.

There were no comments from the public.

ITEM 1. ADOPTION OF “APPLICATION PACKAGE” FOR INDIVIDUALS APPLYING FOR CITY COMMISSION SEAT
City Manager and City Attorney submitted a proposed application package for consideration/approval.

Motion made by Cason, second by Myers and carried unanimously to table this matter to a future date.

ITEM 2. REVIEW/ACCEPTANCE OF AUDIT FOR FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2009

Richard Powell of Powell & Jones, CPA presented his report. Mr. Powell suggested/recommended using IRS regulations regarding employees using departmental vehicles.
Commissioner Cason suggested the findings regarding IRS regulations to be placed on the agenda for the January 14, 2010 meeting.

ITEM 3. ADJOURNMENT OF SPECIAL MEETING.
Motion made by Cason, second by Myers and carried unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 12:37 p.m.
